Easily my most "rock" recording to date, which seems more unusual than it should given what an integral part of my musical mindset it is. I suppose I tend to write more folky singer/songwriter stuff normally since it's what the one-guy-in-a-bedroom setup lends itself to most easily. But with modern recording capabilities, I can really work into just about any musical dimension and I plan to explore that more.

This song was influenced mostly by 90s indie rock like Pavement, Guided by Voices, and Ride, though there's a good dose of Ramones here too. Even though it's more uptempo and sonically bulky, it's more stripped down than most of my work from a songwriting perspective and relies more on rhythm and guitar indulgence than usual.
